We Are Way More Alike Than We Are Different, Moms

Lately, and I guess I don't mean lately as in this week, but over the past few years there has been what feels like a huge rise of mom-shaming.  We've forgotten that we are in this together.  My guess is that this has much to do with social media.  While social media offers us so many wonderful things we are essentially putting ourselves out there for all to see.  We are vulnerable, on display with each photo and each thought we post.  The comparison has gotten out of hand.  W… Read more

Loving Lately

Jo Malone SO, this is kind of a lie because I've been loving it for a few years.  A lot of people still don't know about this brand and the scents are so subtle but long lasting.   They aren't cheap but good perfume just isn't.  Over the years I've mostly hated perfumes and at times couldn't even tolerate wearing them which is so weird, I know.  Roses by Jo Malone is my go to, I'm obsessed and may never try another scent. IT Superhero Mascara  THIS mascara, OMG.… Read more

New Year's Ready

The time between Christmas and New Year's is so awkward. All of that hard holiday work, the late nights shopping, baking and wrapping is over with and the actual holiday is gone in the blink of an eye.   Time to take down the decorations and find a home for all of the new carefully thought out and wrapped toys and gifts that were torn open in ten seconds flat.  While I'm not a New Year's Resolution maker I do think this is a great time to reflect on your year as a mom, as… Read more

How to Have a Better Night's Sleep

1.  Clean your kitchen....yes, seriously.  I know it seems like a given but wipe/clear your counters, empty your sink, do a quick sweep of crumb, clean tables and high chairs, set a clean slate for the next day (only to get messed again, but still!). 2.  Get everything ready....I've said this before in other posts and I'll say it again...purses, jackets, lunches, hats/gloves, backpacks, baby bags...have everything ready to go and in one spot to grab and go in the morning. 3.  … Read more

FAMILY OF 5..6? 7?

So this is kind of a personal topic for a lot of people but for me I'm pretty much an open book.   When I had my third child everyone was like "oh my gosh you're having three, wow" "wow, you're having a third"...lot's of "wows" ..Even the secretary at my doctors office!  When did three children become excessive? I really never thought about the amount of children I wanted to have ever I just figured I would know when the time came.  My hus… Read more

How to Have "Good Mornings" with Your Children

I will be honest I am just not a morning person. I really never was. Mornings are tough around here and if you have little ones I am sure they are in your house too! Now, full disclosure I have NOT mastered the art of a "good" morning but I have definitely found a few ways to rush less, yell less and keep my blood pressure at a reasonable level before 8 AM. More likely than not your paid job is stressful enough...no one wants to start it off with ten toddler outfit chang… Read more

Mom Defeat

A toddler, a baby and a teen. This is my life currently.  13, 4 and 1.  Yes, I know I must be crazy.  Anyways, some days my four year old is sweet and my teen is smart and responsible and the baby mellow as can be.  Other days not sot much.  Today falls into the "other" category.  I think they were in a secret competition for who can behave worse than the next.  This is what usually seems to happen on these kinds of days.  Pouches and cups were thrown, countless tantrums wer… Read more
